Our approach consists of three major phases to rapidly define a set of action plans that will improve the sale-ability of your business and ultimately lead to increased value to you.
     
 
  Phase 1: Understand the client  
   
It consists of understanding your needs and expectations. We will learn your motives for selling, your expectations regarding sales price & terms as well as key drivers for your business. Typically this is done in an initial meeting which will allow us to define the consulting engagement objectives as well as required data needs.

Typically this is done in an initial meeting which will allow us to define the consulting engagement objectives as well as required data needs.
  Phase 2: Assess  
   
Phase II is the core work of the engagement. Typically we launch with a ½ day workshop to learn all we can about you and your business which provides the foundation for our recommendations. It is imperative to have all the information assembled in advance of this meeting. To best prepare your business for sale, we:
  • Identify constraints and accelerators for the business such as legal issues, strong brand recognition or poor financial documentation.
  • Analyze the size and quality of the potential buyer pool identifying strategic buyers with the best possible fit
  • Re-cast earnings and develop a high-level valuation for your firm. We will update this valuation for the benefits from our recommendations
  • Analyze key levers of value including revenue generation, profitability (cost) management, balance sheet and cost of capital optimization
After completion of these analyzes we will have a fairly complete view of your business and will be able to make recommendations geared to enhancing the ultimate sale price of your business. These recommendations will be documented in a report and reviewed with you in person.
  Phase 3: Monitor  
   
Phase III consists of on-going monitoring to ensure the recommended actions are being implemented per the agreed upon schedule. Typically this involves two brief updates monthly. Implementation is your responsibility but implementation assistance is available if needed through Sunbelt or one of our partners
